Stadtbibliothek – Stuttgart City Library

Stuttgart City Library

Stuttgart’s Stadtbibliothek is more than your average city library. In addition to a fabulous catalog, it is renowned for its breathtaking architecture. On the ground floor visitors can borrow audio guides that take you along the Architectural Route (explaining the architectural design of the new library building by Eun Young Yi) or the Library Route, which presents the library’s offerings, usage and content concept. Be sure to check out the view from the roof terrace!

The library focuses in particular on the Stuttgart region literary scene and has a permanent exhibition for authors and award winners from Stuttgart and the surrounding region. In addition, there is a central children’s library, a music library, and an art library (of original works!)

Stuttgart’s city library is fully modern. You can use the online catalog from anywhere and members can check out ebooks, podcasts, and other media 24 hours a day.
