Every year in sum­mer the Ham­burg Fish Mar­ket comes to Karl­splatz, in the cen­ter of Stuttgart, for ten days. They bring fresh fish down from the North of Ger­many every day. The numer­ous food stalls offer a wide range of fish prod­ucts, includ­ing crab rolls, baked fish, Bis­mar­ck her­ring, seafood sal­ads, and scampi noo­dles. You can also buy smoked salmon and tins of fish and seafood products.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a cel­e­bra­tion with­out some­thing to drink as well. North Ger­man beers are in abun­dant sup­ply. You can also try mar­itime-themed cock­tails. Since it’s sum­mer, there are also a cou­ple of stands loud­ly hawk­ing fresh fruit, which you can take home in a beau­ti­ful bas­ket. Entrance is free and there is abun­dant seat­ing, so all you have to do is decide what to enjoy first!
